About
Hello! I'm Anil, and I'm currently based in Bangalore, working at Matters.AI as Head of Infrastructure and Security. This role represents an exciting pivot in my career, where I'm diving deep into building robust, secure infrastructure systems that power modern AI applications. It's been a fascinating journey transitioning into this space, and I'm constantly learning and evolving as the landscape of infrastructure and security continues to transform.
Before joining Matters.AI, I spent time at Open Financial as Director of Engineering, where I had the privilege of spearheading the development of the Axis Bank Neo Internet Banking Platform. Leading a team of 30 talented engineers, we built a platform that serves millions of users, navigating the complexities of financial technology while ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. That experience taught me a lot about managing large-scale engineering initiatives and the importance of building systems that can handle real-world demands.
Prior to that, I was at Cogoport as Engineering Manager, overseeing two dynamic teams—Business Finance and DevOps. That period was instrumental in shaping my approach to both technical leadership and people management.
When I'm not thinking about infrastructure, security, or distributed systems, you'll find me exploring my hobbies. I'm an avid motorcyclist who loves hitting the road, a home cook who enjoys experimenting with flavors, and a traveler always planning the next adventure. Beyond work, I'm deeply passionate about startups, technology, and the dynamic world of esports.
My technical toolkit spans languages like Python, Kotlin, Ruby, JavaScript/TypeScript, and frameworks such as FastAPI, Micronaut, Laravel, and Ruby on Rails. I've worked extensively with AWS and have hands-on experience with database systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. I've also implemented messaging systems using Kafka and RabbitMQ, always eager to explore cutting-edge technologies that solve real problems.
This blog is my space to share thoughts, learnings, and insights from my journey—whether it's about infrastructure, security, engineering leadership, or just random musings on technology, and startups. I hope you find something interesting here, and I'd love to connect and learn from your experiences too!
